Baked Masala Peanuts

Ingredients to make Baked Masala Peanuts

  • Raw peanuts - 1 cup (heaped)
  • Chickpea flour - 3/4th of half cup
  • Rice flour - 2 - 3 tablespoon
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Dhaniya Powder - 1 tsp
  • Jeera Powder - 1 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
  • Any refined oil (except coconut/ mustard) - 2 tsp
  • Water - 2 - 3 tablespoons
  • Curry Leaves - a bunch

How to make Baked Masala Peanuts

  1. Wash the peanuts and drain it completely. The peanuts should be moist and not soggy. (You can use the peanuts with the skin or without, it's your choice.)
  2. In a bowl add all the dry ingredients except for the water and oil. Now add the peanuts into the mixed dry ingredients. Pour water little by little to form a tight dough.
  3. Pre heat the oven to 200 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
  4. Spread the peanut mixture evenly on a baking tray that is lined with parchment paper. Drizzle the oil on top and add the curry leaves.
  5. Bake at 200 degree celsius for 20 minutes.
My Tip: You could also add crushed garlic and ginger for added flavour. If you do not have a oven, spread this mixture on a microwave safe plate and microwave on high for 3 minutes. Stir in between. Then again microwave on high for 3-4 minutes till it becomes crispy.
