About Jam Swiss Roll Recipe

This roll is really very quite easy to prepare and you can also prepare them with your favourite flavour or favourite spread even though my choice is strawberry jam.

Jam Swiss Roll

Ingredients to make Jam Swiss Roll

  • 4 nos eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup Cornflour
  • 1/4 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp Vanilla essence
  • Food colour (rose & green)
  • Strawberry Jam
  • Confectioner's sugar (for dusting)

How to make Jam Swiss Roll

  1. Preheat the oven to 250 F. Separate the eggs whites and egg yolks.Sieve together the flours, baking powder and keep aside.
  2. Beat the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until they turn smooth and have a pale and yellow creamy mixture, slowly add the sieved flours,vanilla essence and mix everything well.
  3. Meanwhile beat the egg whites separately with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form, gently fold the egg whites to the already prepared flour mixture and mix everything well
  4. Divide the batter into three equal parts and take them in a bowl, colour one with rose food colour while the another with green colour.
  5. Pour the batter side by side in a 10x15 inch jelly roll pan lined with greased baking paper..
  6. With a tooth pick, make some swirls in the batter and bake for 15 minutes and immediately roll the baked cake in a slightly wet towel and let it get cooled.
  7. Spread generously the strawberry jam and roll it tightly, cover the roll with a cling wrap and let it sit for an hour in fridge.
  8. Dust generously with the confectioner's sugar. Slice it and enjoy.
