Its a traditional recipe of mangalore region. Its nothing but Capsicum in coconut and buttermilk gravy. Goes with hot rice.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Capsicum 2 big
  2. Freshly grated coconut 1 cup
  3. Buttermilk 3/4 cup (preferably sweet not sour)
  4. Green chilly 1
  5. Coconut oil 1 tsp
  6. Mustard seeds 1 tsp
  7. Curry leaves 1 spring
  8. Red chilly 1

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut capsicum into medium size pieces.
  2. Cook capsicum by adding 1 or 2 glass of water, salt and slit green chilly.
  3. Meanwhile grind coconut adding required amount of buttermilk to a smooth paste.
  4. Now mix the ground paste, and cook in medium flame.
  5. Add buttermilk or water if required to adjust consistency.
  6. Turn off heat and do the seasoning using coconut oil, mustard , red chilly and curry leaves .
  7. Serve with plain rice.
