ABOUT Kachori RECIPE

A crispy crunch with a flavourful moong dal filling inside! This Kachori recipe is easy to make and is a great snack.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Flour (Maida)
  2. 1/4 cup Yellow Moong dal
  3. 1/4 cup Urad dal
  4. 1 tbsp Rice Flour
  5. 1 tbsp Besan
  6. 1 tsp Ginger paste
  7. 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  8. 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  9. 1 tsp Amchur
  10. 1 tsp Fennel powder
  11. 1/2 tsp Garam masala
  12. 1/4 tsp Cumin powder
  13. 1/2 tbsp Oil
  14. A pinch of hing/asafoetida
  15. Oil for deep frying
  16. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak urad dal and moong dal for 3 hours.
  2. Drain off the excess water and grind both dals.
  3. In a bowl, take maida, rice flour, salt and oil. Add water to knead it into a dough.
  4. Keep the dough at rest for 20-25 mins.
  5. Heat some oil in the vessel, add cumin powder and hing. After cumin gets brown add ginger paste,red chilli powder,coriander powder, amchur, fennel powder,garam masala and besan.
  6. Cook for 2 mins and add the ground urad and moong daal.
  7. Cook for another 7-8 mins.
  8. Make small spheres from the dough. Roll the sphere into small circles.
  9. Add 1 tbsp of the dal mixture. Join the edges and make a flat ball.
  10. Heat the oil in the frying pan (not too hot) and fry the kachoris on medium flame, so that they become crisp.Fry till golden brown.
  11. Serve it with aloo ki sabzi.
