French Beans Flax Sticks are crispy outside and tender inside. These can be served as an evening snack or as a side dish. Kids will love these healthy and versatile sticks.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. French Beans ( cut into 2 to 3 inch pieces ) - 1 cup
  2. Flax Seed Powder - 2 tablespoon
  3. Bengal gram flour / Besan - 3 tablespoon
  4. Rice Flour - 4 tablespoon
  5. Carom seeds / Ajwain -1 teaspoon
  6. Black pepper powder - 1 tablespoon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Oil - for deep frying

Instructions

  1. For batter preparation - Take a bowl. Add all the flours , flax seeds powder, Black pepper powder, carom seeds powder and salt. Mix well.
  2. Now pour little by little water into the mixed flour to prepare a batter of a not too thick or too thin consistency. Ensure that the batter is similar to the Bajji/fritter like consistency.
  3. In the meanwhile heat oil in a pan over a medium flame.
  4. Dip each piece of french beans ( cut ) in the batter and coat it well on both sides with the batter. Swipe off the excess batter.
  5. Carefully drop these coated pieces in the hot oil and fry them over a low to medium flame. With the help of a slotted ladle, turn them and fry the other side also until they change to golden color.
  6. Turn off the flame and transfer these golden color sticks to a serving plate. Ensure to wipe excess oil (if any).
  7. Serve hot the tasty "French Beans Flax Sticks."
