Ingredients to make Aloo Palak

  • 200g spinach
  • 1 onion chopped finely
  • 2 large potatoes boiled
  • 1-2 tomatoes chopped
  • 1-2 green chillies
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • salt to taste
  • coriander for garnishing

How to make Aloo Palak

  1. Wash the spinach well. Discard stems and chop the leaves.
  2. Heat some oil in the pan, add jeera. When jeera starts popping, add onion and fry till golden brown.
  3. Add garlic paste and cook for few minutes.
  4. Add tomatoes , sprinkle cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and salt. Cook till oil leaves the sides.
  5. Add spinach and let it cook for sometime. Stir occasionally in between.
  6. Add potatoes and cook for 10 mins. Add some water if it dries too quickly.
  7. Serve hot with chapatis.
