About Bread and Butter Pudding Recipe

A delicious pudding originally devised to use up leftover bread..is now a classic.

Bread and Butter Pudding

Ingredients to make Bread and Butter Pudding

  • Bread- 5-6 slices
  • Milk- 1 cup
  • cream- 1 cup
  • sugar-50gms
  • Raisins/sultanas- ½ cup
  • eggs- 3
  • butter- 50 gms
  • Vanilla extract- ½ tsp

How to make Bread and Butter Pudding

  1. Butter the bread slices first then cut neatly into squares.
  2. Lightly butter a baking pan and cover it with a layer of the bread.
  3. Top with a layer of raisins.
  4. Combine the Cream, Milk, eggs, Sugar and vanilla essence and whisk well.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the bread and bake at 180 deg. C for about 40 minutes or till the pudding is set.
