Palak Matar

Ingredients to make Palak Matar

  • 200 gm spinach
  • 1 Onion chopped finely
  • 2 large potatoes boiled
  • 1 cup Peas boiled
  • 1-2 Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1-2 Green chillies
  • 2-3 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tsp jeera
  • 1 tsp tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garlic paste
  • Coriander for garnishing
  • Salt to taste

How to make Palak Matar

  1. Heat some oil in a pan, add jeera. When jeera starts popping, add onion and fry till golden brown.
  2. Next add the garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, green chillies and stir fry.
  3. Add the spinach and let it cook for sometime. Stir ocassionaly in between.
  4. Add potatoes and peas along with all the powder masalas and cook it for 10 mins. Add some water if it dries too quickly.
  5. Serve it hot by pouring the lemon juice on top with rice/rotis.
