Ingredients to make Tres leches mexican flan

  • 5 - Large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • Zest of one orange
  • 12oz Evaporated Milk
  • 14 oz Condensed Milk
  • 500 ml Milk
  • Pinch of salt
  • For caramalising : 1 cup sugar

How to make Tres leches mexican flan

  1. Place the eggs in a blender. Add vanilla extract, zest of 1 orange and a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the three milks. Blend all together. Remove any foam/air bubbles formed with a spoon.
  3. Prepare caramel: Add the sugar on a pan, let it melt. Remove from heat just as it becomes brown. Pour it in an 8 inch pan.
  4. As soon as the caramelised sugar has hardened, add in the 3 milk solution.
  5. Place the pan in a steamer and steam it for an hour.
  6. Let it cool and then invert the flan on a plate
