Ingredients to make Green Pea Cutlet

  • 4-5 potatoes freshly boiled and immediately mashed
  • 3 tablespoon bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon grated Ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/2 cup peas boiled and drained
  • 1 tablespoon chopped green chillies or as per taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • Oil- 1 tsp plus extra as required for frying
  • 1 tablespoon coriander leaves chopped
  • 50gm panir finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala(optional)

How to make Green Pea Cutlet

  1. Heat 1 tsp Oil, add lightly mashed peas, panir, 1/4 teaspoon salt,1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder,garam masala, grated ginger and green chillies.Saute for 2-3 minutes.Your filling is ready.
  2. Keep the filling aside to cool.Now take a bowl and add mashed potatoes,bread crumbs and add salt to taste.Knead to make a dough.
  3. Now take a small amount of potato dough and flatten between your palms,place a tbsp of the filling in the middle, bring the sides together and cover it with the dough.
  4. Slightly flatten down into a patty shape, now make all the cutlets this way.Heat oil in a non stick pan and shallow fry the cutlets on both sides until they become golden brown and crisp.
  5. Garnish the cutlets with some black pepper powder and serve with mint and tamarind chutney.
My Tip: serve with some spicy chole for a complete meal!
