Red Velvet Apple Cake

Ingredients to make Red Velvet Apple Cake

  • Dry Ingredients - 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered oats
  • 1/2 cup semolina
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Wet Ingredients - 1 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 cup olive or soyabean oil
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 large apple- (peeled-boiled and mashed)
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 2 tablespoon glazed cherries

How to make Red Velvet Apple Cake

  1. Preheat the oven for 10 minutes to 150 degree Celsius
  2. Mix the milk and vinegar, stir a little and keep aside. Milk will become foamy after a while.
  3. In a large mixing bowl add all the dry ingredients and mix well. Make a well in the middle and keep aside.
  4. In other bowl add sugar and oil and whisk with the help of a hand blender until sugar is completely dissolved and creamy.
  5. Add the pulp of a boiled apple and blend.
  6. Add vanilla essence and food coloring to the sugar mixture.
  7. Add sugar mixture to dry ingredients and stir well. Also add the milk - vinegar mixture and mix well.
  8. Grease a silicone cake pan and pour the entire batter into it.
  9. Bake for 20 minutes on 170 degree Celsius. Keep checking and bake until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  10. Cool the cake completely then take it out of the mold.
  11. Add dollops of whipped cream on top and garnish with glazed cherries.
