About Matar Mushroom( Curried peas and mushroom) Recipe

A very flavourful curry, delicious when peas are in season.

Matar Mushroom( Curried peas and mushroom)

Ingredients to make Matar Mushroom( Curried peas and mushroom)

  • 200gms Button mushrooms, washed and sliced
  • ½ cup peas (shelled)
  • 4 medium tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 Medium sized onion, chopped fine
  • ½ tsp Deggi Mirch
  • 1 Green chilli, chopped
  • ½ tsp Garam masala
  • ¼ tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • salt as required
  • 2 tbsp oil

How to make Matar Mushroom( Curried peas and mushroom)

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions, next add in the ginger garlic paste followed by the tomatoes and green chilli.
  2. Cook till the masala leaves the sides of the pan and oil separates.
  3. Now add in the turmeric, deggi mirch and garam masala.
  4. Tip in the mushroom and peas along with 2 cups water, cover and cook till the peas are soft.
  5. Uncover and season. You can add more water to get desired gravy consistency.
  6. Serve with chapatis or naans.
