Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. french beans 100 gms
  2. ground nut 25 gms
  3. toor dal 1 cup
  4. white rice 1 cup
  5. jaggery little
  6. salt to taste
  7. ghee 3 tbsp
  8. refined oil 2tbsp
  9. tamarind little
  10. mustered seeds 1/4 tbsp
  11. To prepare masala:
  12. dhaniya 1 tbsp
  13. urad dal 1tbsp
  14. chana dal 1 tbsp
  15. cinnamon 1 inch
  16. cloves 3
  17. black pepper 1/2 tbsp
  18. khus khus 1 tbsp
  19. cumin seeds 1 tbsp
  20. curry leaves little
  21. red chili 4
  22. hing little
  23. linseed 1/2 tbsp
  24. grated coconut 1tbsp(optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash toor dal and water. Keep aside.
  2. Wash french beans and cut into small pieces.
  3. In a kadai, add 1 tbsp of refined oil. To this add all the masala ingredients(mentioned above) one by one and fry well till the nice aroma come out from this.
  4. Keep fried masala ingredients aside to cool.
  5. After it cools, grind masala ingredients by adding water.
  6. In a pressure cooker, add ghee and refined oil. Allow this to heat. To this, add mustered seeds, urad daaal, chana dal, cumin seeds. When mustered seeds splutters, add curry leaves and hing.
  7. Add tamarind pulp.
  8. Now, to this, add chopped french beans, toor dal and rice. Pour enough water to cook. ( Note: Besibele bhath requires a little more water. ie., for above mentioned measurements 6 cups of water is needed.)
  9. Now add our freshly prepared grinded masala to this.
  10. Add a very little quantity of jaggery and salt as per the taste. Mix well. Keep this to cook by putting whistle.
  11. Switch off the flame for 4 whistles.
  12. Now the hot, spicy, tasty and healthy French beans Bisibele bhath is ready to serve. Decorate with coriander leaves, boondi and ghee.
