These sabudana vadas are so easy to make and great for fasting, can be served with coriander or coconut chutney.

Ingredients to make Sabudana vadas

  • 1 cup sabudana/Sago
  • 2 boiled and mashed potatoes
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt/ sendha namak
  • 3 tablespoons coriander leaves finely chopped(optional)
  • 2-3 green chillies chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • oil for deep frying
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilly powder
  • 1/4 cup roasted peanuts

How to make Sabudana vadas

  1. Soak sabudana in water overnight.Sabudana wil increase in size.Now drain the sabudana well so that there is no water in them.
  2. Take a large bowl and add mashed potatoes,sabudana,green chillies,salt,black pepper powder and red chilly powder.Mix them well.
  3. Now add lemon juice,coriander leaves and roasted peanuts.Mix well and take a small portion of the mixture.Roll it between your hands and give it shape of a lemon sized ball.Repeat the process for rest of the mixture also.
  4. Heat oil in a pan to deep fry sabudana balls.The sabudana vada is ready.Serve the vadas with coconut chutney.
