Gulab Jamun

Ingredients to make Gulab Jamun

  • 1 cup Milk powder
  • 1/2 cup maida
  • 2 Cups water
  • 1.5 cups sugar
  • 1 to 2 tbsp yogurt
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • ½ tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp Rose water (optional)
  • A pinch of saffron
  • A pinch of baking soda
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

How to make Gulab Jamun

  1. In a vessel, add sugar, cardamom powder and water and cook till one thread consistency is attained.
  2. Add saffron and remove from the heat.
  3. Mix maida, milk powder, baking soda in a bowl.
  4. Add ghee and add curd little by little. Knead it into a soft dough.
  5. Make small balls from the dough.
  6. Heat oil in the pan and reduce the flame at low.
  7. Fry the balls till brown. And add them to the sugar syrup for atleast 2 hours.
  8. Serve warm or cold.

boil water when it's hot pour on the sides very slowly the crystals of sugar gets dissolved and jamuns gets immersed
