ABOUT Jabari (Bottel gourd rice pulao ) RECIPE

Jabari or bottel gourd rice is a party special diferent type of pulao from dadi nani time.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1/2 cup basmati rice
  2. 1/2 cup chopped bottelgourd
  3. 2 teaspoon poppy seeds (paste)
  4. 1/2teaspoon cumin seed
  5. 1 tablespoon ghee
  6. 6-7 Roasted cashewnuts
  7. 4 Green Cardmom
  8. 4 cloves salt to test

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice for 20 minutes in water
  2. Drain the water and keep it ready
  3. Heat ghee in a cooker ,add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  4. Add cloves, cardamom, cashew nuts and poppy seeds paste and saute few seconds
  5. Add chopped bottle gourd stir it 1-2 minutes
  6. Now add rice salt and one cup of water , close the cooker and cook it on medium flame
  7. Cook till one whistle, after 4-5 minutes open the lid and mix well
  8. Garnish with few cashew nuts cloves,cordmom and chopped coriander leaves.
  9. Serve it with raita, chutney or spicy gravy .
