ABOUT Sabudana Khichdi RECIPE

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup - sabudana or sago
  2. 5-7 curry leaves
  3. 1 dry red chilly
  4. 1/4 cup - roasted peanuts
  5. 1/2 teaspoon - red chilly powder
  6. Sendha Namak/Salt to taste
  7. 1 teaspoon - fresh lime juice
  8. 1/2 teaspoons - cumin seeds
  9. 2 - green chillies chopped
  10. Potato - 1 (Boiled)
  11. Oil/Ghee - 2 tablespoons
  12. A pinch of black pepper powder
  13. 1 & 1/2 cups - water

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak sago in water for 2 hours. Drain in a colander and spread sago on a cloth for another 2 hours, so that there is no water left in the sago.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chilies and dry red chili. Let it sizzle for a minute.
  3. Now add boiled potato, sago and peanuts. Mix them well.
  4. Add salt, red chilly powder and lime juice. Garnish with some black pepper powder and serve.
