ABOUT Veg Flax Omelette RECIPE

Inspired from Vegan recipes. The Flax seed is a rich source of omega -3 essential fatty acid which is meant for a healthy heart, lignans that improve blood sugar. It also contains fibers both soluble and insoluble. Moreover besan with a combo of flax can be used as an egg replacement for vegans.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bengal gram flour – 1 cup
  2. Flax seed powder – 1 tablespoon
  3. Slices of onion (round) – 6
  4. Slices of tomato (round) – 4
  5. Clarified butter/ ghee – 1 tablespoon
  6. Coriander and cumin seeds powder – 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Salt – to taste
  8. Coriander leaves – for garnishing
  9. Green Chili(chopped) - 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Take bengal gram flour in a bowl. Add the flax seed powder ,salt, chopped coriander leaves,coriander fruits and cumin seeds powder,finely chopped chilly to it. Mix well to avoid lump formation.
  2. Pour water to the above mix till a ‘dosa’ consistency batter is obtained.
  3. Take a non-stick pan, grease it with clarified butter/ ghee. Arrange the slices of onion and tomato in circles.
  4. Now pour the batter carefully over the slices so that all the slices are covered uniformly with it.
  5. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes on medium flame then slowly turn the omelette and fry the other side of it for 2 to 3 minutes or until it is cooked well.
  6. Serve hot with rice or any flat bread.
