ABOUT Herbed Potato Bread RECIPE

Most flavorful 'white' bread we've ever had. Moist, spongy texture with combination of potatoes, cheese and herbs, making it perfect for sandwiches and toast.

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Instant yeast 2 teaspoon
  2. Sugar 20 gms (1.5 tbsp)
  3. Lukewarm potatoe water 175 ml (3/4 cup)
  4. Olive oil 85 ml (1/3 cup)
  5. Salt 1 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Egg/ flax egg 1 (1 tbsp flax meal + 3 tbsp water)
  7. Mashed potatoe 100 gm (1/2 cup)
  8. Plain flour 400 gms (3.5 cups)
  9. Oregano 2 tablespoon
  10. Chilli flakes 1 teaspoon
  11. Sesame seeds 1 tablespoon
  12. Cheese shredded 2 tablespoon
  13. Full fat milk 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. MIX 1 TBSP FLAX MEAL & 3 TBSP WATER
  2. MIX 400 GMS FLOUR, 2 TSP INSTANT YEAST & 20 GMS SUGAR, KEEP ASIDE
  3. BOIL 1/2 CUP POTATOES & RESERVE THE STOCK
  4. MIX THE FLOUR MIX, THE BOILED POTATOES, THE FLAX MEAL SOLUTION & KNEAD INTO A DOUGH USING THE RESERVED POTATO STOCK
  5. ADD 3 CUPS OLIVE OIL
  6. KNEAD GENTLY FOR 15 MINS
  7. ADD 1-1/4 TSP SALT
  8. ADD 1 TSP OREGANO & 1/4 TSP CHILLI FLAKES
  9. KEEP DOUGH IN A GREASED BOWL TILL IT DOUBLES UP IN VOLUME
  10. TRANSFER FLUFFED UP DOUGH TO A GREASED BREAD PAN, KEEP TO REST TILL DOUGH RISES & TOUCHES THE SIDES & THE RIMS OF THE PAN
  11. BRUSH MILK OVER THE DOUGH
  12. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP OREGANO & 1 TSP CHILLI FLAKES
  13. BAKE IN A PRE HEATED OVEN AT 350 DEGREES FOR 20 MINS
  14. SPRINKLE 2 TBSP SHREDDED CHEESE & BAKE FOR ANOTHER 20 MINS & SERVE
