ABOUT Spicy pork curry RECIPE

A wonderful spicy pork curry that is tasty and can warm you up during the winters. Pork Curry is a savory delicacy of the north-eastern states. Pork Curry is famous among people and relished by a lot of north eastern people. A curry is made from the various flavorsome spices and vegetables. The pork when combined with the curry makes a perfect combinations as the flavors of the curry coats the pork making it very delightful. Thespices give the pork a succulent taste. And the tomato puree imbibes aslight tangy taste to it. Pork can be used in a lot of form, cutlets, biryani, bake dish could be some variations. But the best form still remains the Pork Curry. The Spicy Pork Curry can be served with roti or butter naan with a refreshing salad.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. 500 gms pork shoulder (with some fat and cut into cubes)
  2. 1 large sized tomato, pureed
  3. 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  4. 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  5. 1 inch ginger piece, minced
  6. 2 tsp red chilli powder
  7. 1 and ½ tsp coriander powder
  8. ½ tsp Garam Masala
  9. ½ tsp panch phoran
  10. 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  11. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan/kadai. Add the panch phoran seeds, once they start to pop add the onions. Saute and cook till they turn golden in colour.
  2. Grind the ginger and garlic together with a little water to make a puree form. Add this into the pan with the onions.
  3. Fry and cook till the moisture dries up and the paste has fried nicely. Add the pureed tomato, salt, masala powders and pork, stir these ingredients well together then add 1/2 cup of water.
  4. Bring this to a boil then lower the flame and let it simmer and cook for 35-40 minutes or till the pork is completely cooked.
  5. Serve warm alongside rice to enjoy!
