ABOUT Chakkuli RECIPE

It's a deep fried snack made of rice flour.

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. Rice flour 3 cups
  2. Fried Black gram(Urad dal) flour 1 cup
  3. Fried gram(putani kadle / hurikadale) flour 1 cup
  4. Cumin seeds 2 tsp
  5. Water 2.5 cup
  6. Butter 2 cubes (or two lemon sized)
  7. Oil for Deep frying
  8. salt as per taste

Instructions

  1. Take a kadai , fry the flours in medium low flame one by one for about 5 minutes.
  2. To the above flour mixture add salt, cumin seeds and water little by little and combine well.
  3. Mix in butter and gently prepare a dough.
  4. Heat oil for frying in medium flame.
  5. Meanwhile let's start pressing chakkulis using chakkuli presser.
  6. Once oil is hot enough fry the chakkulis till light golden color.
  7. Repeat the same for remaining dough.
  8. Once cooled store them in airtight container.
