About Tulsi Lauki ka halwa Recipe

This is a healthy and easy to make dessert. Suitable for all occasions specially Navratras and other fasting festivities.

Tulsi Lauki ka halwa

Ingredients to make Tulsi Lauki ka halwa

  • 2 tablespoon ghee
  • 2 medium bottle gourds
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup mawa or khoya
  • 1/2 cup grated paneer
  • 250 gm sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 2 tablespoon chopped tulsi
  • A pinch of green food coloring
  • Shaved almonds & coconut for garnishing

How to make Tulsi Lauki ka halwa

  1. Peel, blanch and grind the bottle gourds into a smooth paste.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan and roast the gourds, until the raw smell fades away.
  3. Add in the cardamom powder, chopped basil, milk and grated paneer. Boil once and then simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Now add in the condensed milk and green food coloring.
  5. Simmer and cook for another 10 minutes until it is thick. Turn off the heat and add mawa.
  6. Stir the mawa until it is well incorporated. Garnish with almonds and coconut shavings and serve.
