ABOUT Steel-cut oats porridge RECIPE

This is a delicious warm breakfast recipe loaded with loads of nuts and warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Steel cut Oats : 1/4 cup
  2. Dates : 4-5
  3. Salt : just a pinch
  4. Almond milk : 1 cup
  5. Raisins : 5-6
  6. Almonds : 5-6 (sliced)
  7. Pistachios : 5-6 (chopped)
  8. Nutmeg : 1/8 tsp
  9. Turmeric powder : 1/8 tsp
  10. Cinnamon : 1/4 tsp
  11. Dry ginger powder : 1/8 tsp
  12. Jaggery as per taste (Optional ..See Notes)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Oats in 2 cups of water. (You may pre-soak the oats for couple of hours to reduce the cooking time.)
  2. Once the oats are cooked, add the almond milk, jaggery, dates ,nuts and raisins. Cook on low heat until the porridge starts to thicken.
  3. Add the nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, turmeric powder, dry ginger powder and salt. Mix well.
  4. Serve warm.
