Kadhai paneer masala

Ingredients to make Kadhai paneer masala

  • 250 grams paneer, cut into cubes
  • 1 medium sized onion, finely chopped
  • 2 medium sized tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 green capsicum, cut
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 inch cinnamon stick
  • 2 bay leafs
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 tbsp ghee
  • Salt to taste

How to make Kadhai paneer masala

  1. Take a kadai and heat the ghee in it, saute and cook the paneer cubes till they are golden brown in colour. Soak these fried paneer cubes in a bowl of water.
  2. In the same pan, add all the spices and saute, then put in the onion and ginger garlic paste. Saute and cook till the onion is beautifully golden brown in colour.
  3. Next, put in the capsicum and saute for 2 minutes.
  4. Then add the red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, garam masala along with some water. Bring this to a boil, then add in the tomato puree and mix it well together.
  5. Cover this pan and let it cook for 4-5 minutes. Drain the soaked paneer cubes and put it in along with salt to taste.
  6. Serve this dish hot alongside chapatis.
