Black Forest Cake

Ingredients to make Black Forest Cake

  • 1.5 cup maida or flour
  • 3/4 cup Cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 3/4 cup cooking Oil
  • 500ml Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Icing Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Cherries

How to make Black Forest Cake

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°C.
  2. Sieve maida or flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda together.
  3. Beat eggs lightly in a bowl, add sugar, milk, oil and essence. Mix well till sugar dissolves.
  4. Add the cocoa mixture in the bowl, add wet ingredients little by little. Beat till smooth.
  5. Grease and flour the cake pan. Pour the batter into it.
  6. Bake for 35-40 mins at 350° F or 175°C.
  7. Allow the cake to cool down once it is baked
  8. Take whipping cream in a bowl add powdered sugar and beat till thickens.
  9. Divide the cake into three equal layers.
  10. Between each layer spread the whipped cream, chopped cherries and chocolate shavings.
  11. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and whole cherries. Serve chilled.
