Japanese Rice congee

Ingredients to make Japanese Rice congee

  • 80 grams raw sushi rice
  • 500 ml chicken stock
  • Half a piece of carrot, finely sliced
  • 1/2 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 2-3 strands of spring onion leaves, finely chopped to garnish
  • Salt to taste

How to make Japanese Rice congee

  1. Wash and soak the rice for a while before cooking.
  2. Take a pan, pour in the stock along with the rice and ginger. Bring this mixture to a boil then lower the flame.
  3. Put in the carrot pieces along with salt to taste. Cover with a lid and let it simmer and cook for 20- 25 minutes.
