Ingredients to make Matar Paneer(dry)

  • 200gms Fresh Paneer, cubed
  • ½ cup Peas
  • 1 Medium sized onion, chopped fine
  • 3 medium Tomatoes, pureed
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala
  • 3-4 Dry red chillies
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/2 tsp Dry coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red chilli powder(optional)
  • 1 tsp Ginger-garlic paste
  • Salt as required
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • Chopped coriander leaves- ¼ cup

How to make Matar Paneer(dry)

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions, next add in the red chillies and ginger garlic paste followed by the tomatoes.
  2. Cook till the masala leaves the sides of the pan and oil separates.
  3. Now add in the turmeric, dry coriander powder, cumin powder and garam masala.
  4. Add in peas alongwith 2 cups water, cover and cook till peas are soft.
  5. Uncover and season. Add in the paneer cubes just before serving. Adjust amount of water to get desired gravy consistency.
  6. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve with chapatis or naans.

My Tip:

Do not overcook paneer as it can turn rubbery. You can also add kasuri methi for a delicious touch!
