Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. one cup rice
  2. one fourth cup urad dhuli daal
  3. salt to taste
  4. baking powder half teaspoon
  5. water to steam
  6. for tadka/tempering
  7. one teaspoon mustard seeds
  8. one green chilli
  9. few leaves of karripatta
  10. oil two teaspoon
  11. pinch of asefoetadia
  12. half teaspoon red chilli powder this is optional can be avoided

Instructions

  1. Soak rice and daal in warm water for one hour
  2. grind in a mixer and keep to ferment for four hours
  3. in a steamer keep water to boil about half of its level
  4. grease a flat plate with half teaspoon oil
  5. add salt and baking powder to the batter mix well and pour it in this plate
  6. keep this plate in d steamer and cover it
  7. steam for 15-20 minutes
  8. remove after this and let it cool
  9. prepare temering
  10. heat oil add mustard seeds slit green chill and karripatta and hing/asafoetida
  11. sprinkle red chilli powder half teaspoon
  12. pour on the steamed dhokla
  13. cut into squares and serve
