Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. 1 cup sabudana
  2. 1/2 cup basmati rice
  3. 1/2 cup tuar dal
  4. 1/4 tsp termeric powder
  5. For Spinach puree,1 bunch of spinach fresh and clean
  6. 5-6 whole garlic roughly chopped
  7. 1 green chilli roughly chopped
  8. For cooking,1 onion chopped
  9. 1 tsp ginger nicely crushed
  10. 1 tsp garlic nicely crushed
  11. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  12. 1/r tsp hing(assefotida)
  13. 1 green chillies chopped
  14. 2 tomato chopped
  15. 1/2 tsp correinder powder
  16. 3/4 tsp red chilli powder
  17. 1/4 tsp garam masala powder
  18. 1 tsp kasuri methi
  19. Salt to taste
  20. Oil for cooking
  21. For tempting,2 tsp desi ghee
  22. 1 onion chopped
  23. 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  24. 1/4 tsp black mustard seeds
  25. 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  26. 1/2 tsp kasuri methi
  27. 1/4 tsp assefotida
  28. 3 tsp salted boondi

Instructions

  1. Soaked sabudana in a pot for atleast 2 hours, take rice and dal wash and soaked it also for an hour, when soaked add salt and termeric powder and boil it till completely cook.when cook coarsaly mashed it.
  2. Hot oil in pan add roughly chopped garlic and green chilli in it after a minute add fresh and washed spinach leaves in it and cook only for a minute not completely cook and not to add salt in it other wise it's colour will spoil after a min switch of gas and transfer it in a mixer jar and make a coarsaly paste of it and keep aside it for next step.
  3. For Cooking,add oil in deep pan add cumin seeds,hing,onion,nicely chopped garlic and ginger and green chilli one by one not to cook anything to burning stage or colour change.
  4. When pleasant smell comes,add chopped tomato when tomato cook add corriender and red chilli powder,salt,kasuri methi and garam masala mix well.
  5. Now add soaked sabudana and water and cooked it for 3-4 min or till sabudana half cook,when sabudana half cook add spinach paste in it and mix well.
  6. When both cook add mashed dal and rice mixture and add require water for choice of your consistency and mix well and again cook it for 3-4 min or till it completely cook.when done switch of gas.
  7. For tempting,heat desi ghee in pan add cumin and mustard seeds chopped onion when translucent add red chilli powder,kasuri methi,assefotida and finally add salted boondi in it,now switch off gas and pour the tempting over the sago khichdi.
  8. Now Sago and Spinach khichdi is ready to serve,for more taste serve it hot.
