This is just a new version of having traditional Ami Kozhakatai which is very useful for weight loss post pregnancy

Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. For Ami Kozhakatai Kadam Phool
  2. 1/4 cup rice flour
  3. 1 cup water or more
  4. 1/4 tsp Salt
  5. Oil for greasing
  6. 1/4 tsp mustard seeds for tempering
  7. A pinch of asafoetida
  8. 1 tbsp Basmati rice soaked for 2 hours
  9. For chaat:
  10. 1 boiled and crubled Potato
  11. Mint Coriander Green Chutney
  12. Plain yogurt
  13. Tamarind chutney
  14. Besan Boondi readymade/homemade
  15. salt as per taste
  16. 1 Tbsp chaat masala
  17. 1 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  18. 7-8 Cut Red Grapes into pieces
  19. Mumbai sev for garnishing

Instructions

  1. For kadam Phool Ami Kozhakatai: In a bowl add rice flour and water, mix well to a pouring consistency.
  2. Grease a non-stick heavy bottomed pan and add this mixture into it. Cook it on medium flame.
  3. Stir it continuously till it leaves the corner of pan and resembles like a dough. Switch off the flame and take it out on a greased surface/thali.
  4. Knead it till it's smooth with 1/4 tsp oil. Add salt into it.
  5. In a tadka pan, add a drop of oil, asafoetida and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
  6. Add tempered mustard seeds to dough, rest it for 5 minutes and cover it with muslin cloth. Now make balls out of it.
  7. Drain 1 tbsp rice on a plate and roll the rice flour balls on them so that the rice will stick on them properly.
  8. In Idli steamer, steam them for 10-15 minutes or till rice gets cooked. Now they will look like kadam Phool.
  9. For Assembling the Chaat: Take a glass add 2 tbsp boondi. Now pour 2 tbsp yogurt, a pinch of salt.
  10. Now add some boiled, crumbled potatoes and 1/4 tsp chaat masala. Pour the green chutney and topped with Mumbai sev and grapes.
  11. Put some coriander leaves. At last the most important, put the kadam Phool Ami Kozhakatai on the top.
  12. Your Kadam Phool Ami Kozhakatai Chaat is ready to enjoy
