ABOUT khandvi barfi (not using any food colour) RECIPE

I give the new look of khandvi and add Spinach & beetroot which make it more healthy

Ingredients Serving: 10

  1. besan (gram flour) 1,1/2 cup
  2. Spinach paste 1/2 cup
  3. Beetroot juice 1 cup
  4. Salt to taste
  5. Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
  6. For Tempering:
  7. Asafetida 1 pinch
  8. Black mustered seeds 1/2 tsp
  9. Long cut green chilli 2-3
  10. Curry leaves 8-10
  11. Sesame seeds 1tsp
  12. Oil 1/2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. Divide the besan ( gram flour) in three equal parts .
  2. In one part add salt , spinach paste and add 1,1/2 cup water slowly slowly and make lumps batter .
  3. Now shift the batter in a wok or a pan . And cook it on slow medium flame . Stir continually .
  4. When batter become thick cover it with lid and reduce the flame on slow and cook for 5-7 mins .
  5. Meanwhile we will make next batter . For this take the another part of besan in a bowl add salt and add 2 cup water slowly slowly and make lumps free batter .
  6. Now grease a plate . Spread spinach khandvi paste on the plate . Keep a aide to cool and set .
  7. Now the plain batter shift in the wok and cook it like previous method of spinach batter . Until it become ready we will make the third and the last batter .
  8. Now take last part of besan in a bowl add salt , turmeric powder , and add one cup beetroot juice & one cup water slowly slowly and make lumps free batter .
  9. Now spread the plain khandi paste on the green . And keep aside to cool and set .
  10. Now shift the beetroot batter in the wok and cook it like previous method .
  11. When it prepare spread it on plain . Keep aside to cool and set .
  12. Now we will make tempering .for it take a tadka pan put oil in and heat it .add mustered seeds when it crackle add sesame seeds , asafetida and Curry leaves roast them few seconds .
  13. Now spread this tadka on khandvi .and cut the khandvi in barfi shape .
  14. Try colour khandvi barfi is ready .serve it with green chatni .
