This is Lucknow special sweet dish which is almost 200 years old recipe.I tried this sweet dish at home and it came so close to that. My family loved it. So why not you try this sweet dish this Diwali for your loved ones.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Full cream milk - 500 ml
  2. Sugar - 100 grams
  3. Almond - 7 to 8
  4. Pistachio - 8 to 9
  5. Kesar
  6. Rose water or kewra water

Instructions

  1. Collect all the ingredients together. Now heat the pan and pour milk into it.
  2. Let the milk boil over low flame. Thin layer of malai will form, do not disturb the layer and let it boil as it is
  3. It will take almost an hour to form thick layer of malai. Mean while soak some almonds in milk and few strands of kesar.
  4. Kesar gives a beautiful yellow colour to almond
  5. After reducing the milk the consistency will be like this.
  6. Finally reduced milk will be like this.Let it cool completely
  7. Now remove the malai layers at the edges when it is completely cooled down.
  8. It looks like this.Let it completely cooled down
  9. Chop almonds and garnish Gilori
  10. Chop pistachios finally
  11. Now make the stuffing for Gilori, which contains sugar, almond and pistachios. Then add little bit kesar milk which gives a nice binding.
  12. Mix well.
  13. Now add rose water or kewra
  14. Now its time to make Gilori . Take small triangle piece of malai and add dry fruits stuff in the center.
  15. Start foldind like a pan ka bida
  16. It looks like the same pan ki gilori
  17. Now cover with silver warq
  18. Serve this amazing Malai Gilori during Diwali
