ABOUT Genoise cake RECIPE

Genoise is an italian sponge cake named after a city in italy. It is the most easiest cake to prepare and gift it to our near and dears for special occasions. It takes around 25 min to bake with only 4 ingredients. Using this sponge cake as a base, we can create many flavoured filling cakes.

Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. Eggs-6
  2. All purpose flour-1cup
  3. Sugar-1cup
  4. Baking powder-1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. In a blender, add 6 eggs and blend for 2 minutes
  2. Now add sugar and blend for 1 minute
  3. Seive flour+ baking powder in a mixing bowl.
  4. Transfer the blended egg and sugar batter into mixing bowl and carefully mix it with a spatula.
  5. In a non stick baking pan, place a parchment paper and transfer the batter into it.
  6. Bake it at 180 degree centigrade for 25 minutes
  7. When done , allow it to cool on a wire rack.
  8. For frosting, add cream cheese+ butter+ sugar and whisk well and apply a layer on the cake.
  9. I used pink glaze pack( bought in albertine) to make roses and red icing tubes to make it look like a flower and green icing tube for leaves.
