ABOUT Rice kheer RECIPE

Rice kheer is a traditional indian sweet made from rice and milkwhere rice is cooked with milk and suger .it is flavoured with catdamom powder and saffron.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. Basmati rice 1/4 cup
  2. Full fat milk 1 litre
  3. Cardamom /elaichi powdered 3
  4. Chopped badam and pistachios 1/4 cup
  5. Kesar strands few

Instructions

  1. Wash and soak rice in water about half an hour minimum .this helps to cook rice nicely.take 3tea spoons of hot milk add Kesar in it and keep aside.
  2. While rice soaks ,bring milk to a boil in a large heavy bottom pan.
  3. Add drained rice and begin to cook on a medium low flame until the rice is soft ,completely cooked and lightly mash them
  4. Add sugar,and Kesar and stir continue to cook until the kheer turns thick.
  5. Keep stirring in between and so that it will not stick to the bottom
  6. Add cardamom powder and chopped pistachio and badam..and mix well
  7. Switch off the glass now when it's funny consistency..it will turn bit thik once it cools down.
  8. Garnish rice kheer with Kesar and pistachio and serve
