  • Tomatoes - 1 kg
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil (Optional)

How to make Homemade sundried tomatoes

  1. Preheat oven at 100 degrees C.
  2. Line the the baking tray with a non stick parchment paper.
  3. Wash the tomatoes nicely. Cut them in half and with your fingers gently scoop out the seeds and place them on the baking tray.
  4. Sprinkle with some salt and other spices if using any.
  5. Bake at less than 100 degree C temperature till the tomatoes develop a leathery texture. This could take all day or 7 to 8 hours.
  6. Smaller pieces will require less oven time so make sure you chose similarly sized, fresh and firm tomatoes.
My Tip: Store the dried tomatoes in jars and then fill up with olive oil just to cover. This is where you can use infused oil or put in some garlic cloves, basil, black pepper etc in with them.
