ABOUT Tamarind Pulihora RECIPE

This is traditional rice dish from south Indian cuisine. It is prepared in all festivals and in all other special gatherings.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Cooked rice 1 cup
  2. Tamarind pulp 2 tablespoon
  3. Red chillies 2
  4. Slitted green chillies 2
  5. Chopped Ginger 1 teaspoon
  6. Ground nuts 1 tablespoon
  7. Chana dal 1 teaspoon
  8. Urad dal 1/2 teaspoon
  9. Methi seeeds 5-6
  10. Mustard seeds. 1/2 teaspoon
  11. Oil 3 tablespoon
  12. Salt to taste.
  13. Curry leaves 6-7

Instructions

  1. Turmeric powder mixed cooked rice. 1 cup. Salt. To taste. Tamarind pulp. 2 tablespoon Asafoetida. 1/4 teaspoon
  2. Slitted green chillies. 2 Red chillies. 2 Curry leaves. 6-7. Fenugreek seeds. 5-6 Mustard seeds. 1/2 teaspoon Grond nuts. 2 tablespoon Urad dal. 1 teaspoon Chana dal. 2 teaspoon Chopped ginger 1 tablespoon
  3. Heat pan add 2 tablespoon of oil.
  4. Add broken red chillies and fry.
  5. Add ground nuts,chana dal, urad dal methi seeds and mustard seeds.
  6. Add chopped ginger and green chillies.
  7. Add curry leaves and mix it well.
  8. Add asafoetida( hing) and tamarind pulp.
  9. Mix well and cook.
  10. Add salt to taste and mix properly.
  11. Add rice and mix it well.
