Ingredients Serving: 6

  1. For brown bread gulab jamun dough-
  2. Brown Bread -8 pieces
  3. Sugar powder-1 tablespoon
  4. Cardamom powder-1/2 teaspoon
  5. Ghee -2 tablespoon
  6. Milk powder- 2 tablespoon
  7. Evaporated full cream milk -1/4 cup -1/2 cup
  8. Almonds -8-10 no.s(cut into 2 halves)
  9. Oil for deep frying gulab jamun
  10. For sugar syrup-
  11. Sugar-2 cup
  12. Water- 2 cup
  13. Milk -1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. BOIL 2 CUPS SUGAR WITH 2 CUPS WATER TO MAKE A '1 STRING' CONSISTENCY
  2. ADD 1 TEASPOON MILK INTO THE SUGAR SYRUP, BOIL FOR 2 MINUTES AND TAKE OFF HEAT
  3. ADD 1 TABLESPOON POWDERED SUGAR INTO 8 COARSELY POWDERED BREAD SLICES
  4. ADD 1/2 TEASPOON CARDAMOM POWDER
  5. ADD 2 TABLESPOON MILK POWDER
  6. ADD 1.5 TABLESPOON GHEE
  7. ADD 1/2 CUP EVAPORATED FULL CREAM MILK, LITTLE AT A TIME AND KNEAD INTO A SMOOTH DOUGH
  8. KEEP TO REST FOR 10 MINUTES
  9. GREASE PALMS, TAKE SMALL BALLS OF DOUGH, PLACE AN ALMOND HALF IN THE CENTRE, CLOSE AND SEAL
  10. DEEP FRY THE STUFFED BALLS IN HOT OIL ON LOW HEAT
  11. ONCE THEY TURN GOLDEN BROWN, DIP THEM INTO THE SUGAR SYRUP AND KEEP TO REST FOR 20 MINUTES
  12. SERVE HOT
