Masala chai lovers will instantly adore this recipe. I love masala chai and this instinct lured me to trying out tea spice cookies. The efforts have not gone in vain. A dash of tea spice(chai masala) added to the recipe has made all the difference.. These cookies have a subtle lingering taste of teaspice.You can enjoy these cookies at any time of the day, be it summer or winter-no limitations at all. So go ahead and bake these cookies and have them to your heart's content.

Ingredients Serving: 5

  1. Butter 113 grams at room temperature
  2. All purpose flour ( maida) 1 cup
  3. Powdered sugar 1/2 cup
  4. Tea spice powder 1/2 teaspoon ( a mixture of powdered cloves, cardamons and cinnamon)
  5. Baking powder 1/4 teaspoon
  6. Vanilla(optional) 1/2 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. If using vanilla essence , mix it in now.
  3. Sift in the flour, tea spice powder baking powder and salt.
  4. Fold nicely . Use hand to mix everything together till a dough is formed.
  5. Make a ball of the dough and cover with cling wrap.
  6. Refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven at 180 degrees centigrade for 10 minutes.
  8. Grease a baking tray
  9. Roll out the dough into half inch thickness.
  10. Cut cookies with cutter of required shapes.
  11. Place the cookies on the greased baking tray with sufficient gap between them.
  12. Bake for 20 minutes or until.done
  13. Remove from oven and let them.cool completely before storing.
  14. Initially the cookies maybe soft but they will become crisp once dry
