ABOUT Paniyaaram RECIPE

Its an easy to make,delicious South Indian dish which could be served as breakfast or a tea time snack.It could be prepared in minutes if you have leftover idly or dosa batter.Its a kind of deep fried,spicy idly or dosa.It could be served with any chutney of your choice or chutney powder.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Leftover Idly/Dosa batter 2cups
  2. Shallots /Onion finely chopped 1cup
  3. Green chillies sliced 4
  4. Curry leaves chopped. 3 table spoon
  5. Ginger chopped 2 table spoon
  6. Mustard. 1 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Urad dal. 2 teaspoon
  8. Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a frying pan or kadai season the mustard ,urad dal and the curry leaves with coconut oil or gingelly oil.
  2. Then add the remaining ingredients except the batter into it.
  3. Saute well for 5 mins.After that add this mixture to the batter and mix well.
  4. Heat a Paniyaaram/Appam pan and pour one teaspoon of gingelly/Coconut oil in each cavity.Pour the batter mix in each cavity and fry it on medium flame.
  5. When one side gets the brown colour flip it over. When it becomes almost dark brown it is ready to serve. Enjoy hot tasty paniyaarams with chutney.
