Cubed paneer pieces are dunked in a batter, then shallow fried in oil and then coasted with some spices, herbs and lemon. Just mouth watering

Ingredients Serving: 8

  1. Panner(Indian Cottage Cheese) : 250 grams. [cut into big/medium cubes]
  2. For the batter ::
  3. All purpose flour : 1 tablespoon
  4. Corn starch/cornflour : 1 teaspoon
  5. Rice flour : 1 teaspoon
  6. Ginger-garlic paste : 1 tseaspoon
  7. Salt to taste
  8. Red chilli powder : 1 teaspoon or as needed
  9. Amchur/dry mango powder : 1 teaspoon
  10. Turmeric powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  11. N/A
  12. Curry leaves : 7-8 nos.
  13. Green chillies : 2-3, slitted from middle
  14. Coriander powder : 1/2 teaspoon
  15. Black Pepper powder : 1 tablespoon
  16. Red chilli powder : 1/2 tablespoon
  17. Salt to taste
  18. Butter : 1 tablespoon
  19. Oil : 2 tablespoon
  20. Lime juice : 1 teaspoon
  21. Fresh coriander leaves : a handful

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, take cornflour, rice flour, all purpose flour, turmeric, garam masala powder, amchur/dry mango powder, salt and ginger garlic paste. Mix everything well.
  2. Then add enough water to make a thick paste, so that the batter can coat the paneer pieces well.
  3. Heat 2 tablespoon oil in a frying pan, coat the paneer pieces in the prepared batter and fry them from both sides till golden brown, remove and keep aside.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon butter in the same or some other pan, add curry leaves, slitted green chillies, saute them for a minute, then add coriander powder, chilli powder, black pepper powder, salt and add fried paneer pieces, toss them well.
  5. Lastly, sprinkle lime juice, coriander chopped and toss them again. Remove and serve immediately.
  6. Enjoy spicy and flavourful fried paneer pieces with your evening cuppa or as a side dish.
