Shredded chicken in yoghurt and cashew paste.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Chicken, boneless- 250grams , boiled and shredded
  2. Ginger-garlic paste: 1 tablespoon
  3. Cashew paste: 2 tablespoon
  4. Yogurt or curd: 2 tablespoon, well beaten
  5. Onion paste- 1 large onion
  6. Turmeric: 1/2 teaspoon
  7. Kashmiri Red chili- 1/2 teaspoon
  8. Cinnamon stick: 1 (1” long)
  9. Green cardamom: 4-5, pounded
  10. Bay leaf: 1, large
  11. Cumin powder: 1 teaspoon
  12. Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
  13. Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
  14. Fresh cream: 2 tablespoon
  15. Kasuri methi: 1 teaspoon
  16. Salt: 1 teaspoon or to taste
  17. White oil: 4 tablespoon
  18. Tomato puree- 1 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Wash and clean boneless chicken pieces and pat them dry with kitchen towels and then boil them and then cut into thin strips ..
  2. Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan. When the oil is hot add cinnamon, cardamom and bay leaf.
  3. Add onion paste and sauté for 1 min or two. Add ginger-garlic paste and mix.
  4. Add tomato puree and stir.
  5. Add all the dry spices and Garam masala and 2-3 tablespoon of water straight into the pan
  6. Add salt and little water and mix well. Once water evaporates add more water and cook till oil separates from masala.
  7. Add cashew paste and yogurt and mix.
  8. Add chicken pieces and coat nicely with masala
  9. Once chicken is done nicely, add cream and kasuri methi.
