Ingredients to make Moong dal laddoo

  • Skinless split moong dal soaked overnight 500 grams
  • Tagaar or boora (granulated sugar) 500 grams
  • Desi ghee400-450 grams
  • cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon
  • Chopped cashews and almonds 1/2 small bowl
  • raisins 1/4 small bowl
  • Juliennes of pistachios and almonds

How to make Moong dal laddoo

  1. Grind the soaked moong dal to a fine paste using minimum water
  2. Add around 300 gms of desi ghee in a kadai. Add the moong dal paste. roast till it turns golden brown and cripsy...
  3. Add the almonds and cashews in the kadai and roast it along with the moong dal for a minute...
  4. Take the roasted moong dal in a mixing bowl...let it cool down completely...add the tagaar...add the cardamom powder....add the raisins....
  5. Mix it all well...now start to bind laddoo....if the mixture is not coming together....add 1 cup of clarified butter....now bind the laddoo of your desired size...
  6. While serving garnish with juliennes of almonds and pistachios to make it look more attractive....

My Tip:

By adding desi ghee in smaller quantity you can keep a control on it..later on u can add ghee while binding laddoo...
