Ingredients to make Pisang Goreng/Indonesian Fried Bananas

  • 4 nos of bananas
  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • 1 tbsp Tapioca flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • oil for deep frying

How to make Pisang Goreng/Indonesian Fried Bananas

  1. Take the rice flour, tapioca flour, salt, and water in a mixing bowl. Peel the bananas and cut each of them into two pieces. Make three slices along its length, but keep the bottom 1 inch intact, so it can open up like a fan.
  2. Heat enough oil in a pot to deep fry.
  3. Dip the bananas pieces into this batter and fry until they turn golden brown in colour and become crispy, this could take about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Remove them and drain on paper towels or a wire rack. Serve immediately.
