Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 large beetroot grated finely
  2. 1 large potato boiled and mashed well
  3. 8-10 tbsp of bread crumbs
  4. 1 tbsp ginger- garlic paste
  5. 1 tbsp all purpose flour/maida
  6. 2 tbsp corn flour
  7. 1 tbsp not dry spices like turmeric, red chilli, garam masala and amchur
  8. A handful of fresh coriander leaves
  9. Salt to taste
  10. 1 tbsp black pepper powder
  11. 1 medium sized onion diced finely

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl combine the grated beetroot(after squeezing its juice fully) and the mashed potato
  2. Add the dry spices, 2 tbsp of bread crumbs, ginger- garlic paste and salt to taste. mix well
  3. Add onions and coriander leaves and mix all the ingredients well
  4. Make small round balls and flatten them gently into the shape of tikis
  5. Make a thin liquidy paste in a bowl by combining the cornflour, maida, pepper and salt to taste and place a handful of breadcrumbs spread on a plate ready
  6. Place the tikis in the maida paste and coat them well and then coat them well with breadcrumbs
  7. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non stick pan and gently place the tikis and pan fry them till both sides are slightly brown
  8. For the curd dip:
  9. Combine 100 gms of sour curd with 1 tbsp cumin powder, salt to taste and chaat masala and mix well with enough water if needed
  10. Serve hot with the dip
