Ingredients Serving: 3

  1. Moong dal 1/2 cup
  2. Raw Rice 1 tbsp
  3. Urad dal 1 tsp
  4. Jaggery 1/2 cup
  5. Ghee required
  6. Cashew optional
  7. Cardamon pods 2

Instructions

  1. Dry Roast 1/2 cup Moong dal till the colour changes to light red
  2. Dry Roast 1 tbsp of Raw rice till the colour changes to light red
  3. Dry Roast 1 TSP Urad dal till the colour changes to light red
  4. Allow the mixture to cool
  5. Put it in blender along with Cardamon to make a fine powder
  6. Measure the powder and add equal quantity of jaggery. For me it is 1/2 cup of powder so I took 1/2 cup of pure powdered jaggery. If the jaggery is not pure, prepare jaggery syrup. Add 1 cup water to powder. Mix it without lumps. Then add jaggery syrup and mix well
  7. Add 1.5 cups of water to prepare a thin batter.
  8. Add ghee. Saute cashews.
  9. Add the thin batter and start stirring continuously
  10. It solidifies. Stir continuously
  11. Stir for 10 mins on low flame till the colour of the mixture changes
  12. Serve chilled.
