Amritsari Tandoori Chicken

Ingredients to make Amritsari Tandoori Chicken

  • 1 Fresh Chicken cut into 8-10 pcs
  • 1 cup Thick Curd
  • 5 Green Cardamom
  • 2 sticks Cinnamon
  • 1 Black Cardamom
  • 3 Cloves
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 3 tbsp Ginger and Garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp Mustard Oil (try and use only mustard gives a great
  • 1 tbsp Black peppercorns
  • 4 tsp Red chilli paste
  • 2 tsp Chaat masala
  • 2 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp Coriander seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • Oil/butter for basting
  • Salt to taste

How to make Amritsari Tandoori Chicken

  1. For tandoori masala- grind cinnamon, cardamoms, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cloves , peppercorn, bay leaf and turmeric powder together.
  2. Marinate the chicken with red chilli paste ginger garlic paste, chaat masala, salt(use very less as chaat masala already has salt), lemon juice, mustard oil, curd and the fresh ground tandoori masala for at least 2 hours or preferably overnight.
  3. Grill the chicken from all sides on griller or a hot tandoor basting with butter/oil frequently
  4. Serve with onion rings, tomatoes, lemon wedges and green chutney.
