Spritz Butter Cookies

Ingredients to make Spritz Butter Cookies

  • 200gms Butter(must be softened)
  • 100gms Powdered Sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 3/4 tsp Pure Vanilla extract
  • 255 gms All Purpose flour
  • Nuts/Almonds/ Cherries/sprinkles for garnishing(if desired)

How to make Spritz Butter Cookies

  1. Preheat oven at 180 deg. C. Butter/Line cookie sheets and keep to chill in the refrigerator.
  2. Beat the butter and sugar very well till light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the egg yolk and vanilla extract, continue beating.
  4. Sieve flour to incorporate some air and then add to the above mixture to form into a smooth pliable dough.
  5. Fill a pastry bag with the dough and pipe out 2.5 inch S-shapes onto cool sheet pans(use a star tip). Sprinkle with garnishing if desired.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes till lightly golden.
  7. Store in an airtight container.
