Home made tutti fruti is not only a dish it is an advance preparation for our other dishes to look beautiful.

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 raw papaya
  2. 2 cup sugar
  3. 1 tsp Lemon juice
  4. 2 tsp vanilla essence
  5. 2 drop red food colour
  6. 2 drop green food colour
  7. 2 drop yellow food colour
  8. 2 drop blue food colour

Instructions

  1. Cut the papaya into small pieces. Boil the water in a pan and add the papaya pieces in it.
  2. Boil it for 3 minutes, then turn off the gas and leave the papaya pieces in the boiling water for 5 minutes.
  3. After 5 minutes, strain the water and keep the papaya in the strainer.
  4. Take 2 cups of water in a separate pan, add sugar, lemon juice and prepare the sugar syrup like juice (otherwise the pieces will stick together), now add the papaya in it and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Finally add in the vanilla essence and mix well. Now take 4 bowls with different food colours, divide this syrup and papaya in the food colour bowls, let it soak for 12-15 hours.
  6. After 15 hours, strain this sugar syrup and let it stay on room temperature till it is dry. Once it is dried, preserve it in a zip lock bag.
  7. Home made tutti frutti is ready to be used in cakes, breads, pies and ice creams.
