ABOUT Tikla RECIPE

Tikla is a dry snack , can be served with tea or coffee ,you can easily store them for one month. Usually tiklas are made maida , but i have added some wheat flour into it and result was healthy , crisp and flavourful so let us try how to make tikla

Ingredients Serving: 4

  1. 1 cup Wheat Flour
  2. 3/4 Cup All purpose Flour
  3. 1/4 cup rawa
  4. 1 teaspoon carrom seeds
  5. 1 teaspoon cumin (jeera )
  6. 1 teaspoon crushed black paper
  7. 1/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
  8. 2 tablespoon ghee
  9. Salt to taste
  10. Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Sieve the wheat flour , all purpose flour , baking soda and salt together
  2. Add rawa , carrom seeds , cumin , salt , and crushed blackpaper
  3. Now add ghee and mix well to mix all ingredients together
  4. Now add water and start to knead a dough
  5. The dough should not be soft but a little tight and hard
  6. Take some portion of the dough and make lemon sized balls from it
  7. Now keep the ball on kitchen slab and press it with palm , dont use rolling pin to roll it , as round shape tikla should be a little thick
  8. Now make all the tiklas in same manner and prick them.with tje help of a fork, let them dry for atleast 1 hour
  9. After one hour heat oil in a wok and fry the tikla in low to medium hot oil till browned and crisp
  10. Take out on a kitchen napkin to absorb extra oil and let them cool
  11. After that store in a airtight container and serve with tea or coffee when needed
