ABOUT Shahi Tukra RECIPE

As it's name depicts it is a Shahi dish, that is a dish made fir kings and nawabs. It is an extremely tasty dessert. The flavours of saffron, rose syrup, cardamom play together with dry fruits and rabri and the result is a festival for taste buds.

Ingredients Serving: 2

  1. Bread slices 4 , two round and two square
  2. Sugar syrup ( 1 cup water+1 cup sugar)
  3. Thickened milk (rabri) 300 gm
  4. Cardamom powder 1/2 tea spoon
  5. Saffron few strand
  6. CHOPPED DRY FRUITS
  7. Dessicated Coconut
  8. Rose syrup
  9. cherry

Instructions

  1. First take one litre full cream milk in a pan and reduce it until 300 gm.
  2. Add cardamom powder in milk.
  3. After reducing divide the milk in two parts.
  4. In one part add saffron and other part keep as it is.
  5. Make the sugar syrup.
  6. Add 1 cup sugar to 1 cup water and cook it until one string consistency.
  7. Now take the bread slices.
  8. Cut two slices in round shape using any lid.
  9. Deep fry the bread slices.
  10. Arrange first the square slices on a serving plate.
  11. Pour the white rabri over it.
  12. Sprinkle some chopped dry fruits over it.
  13. Now place the round slices over square slices.
  14. Pour the yellow rabri over it.
  15. Again sprinkle some chopped dry fruit.
  16. Sprinkle some dessicated coconut over it.
  17. Drizzle some rose syrup over it.
  18. Add Cherry over each bread slice.
  19. Enjoy an exotic shahi dessert.
